50 Cent’s New Diddy Comment Takes Internet by Storm
50 Cent’s latest comment about Sean “Diddy” Combs has gone viral after Peloton removed the controversial rapper’s music from its platform.
The fitness brand announced it would stop using Combs’ music in its virtual workout classes, as it took down the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, a string of classes using hits from Combs’ record label.
In November, the music mogul’s ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, accused him of rape and physical abuse during their decade-long relationship. The 37-year-old filed a lawsuit against Combs, with surveillance footage of the rapper attacking Ventura in a hotel hallway released by CNN on Sunday.
A slew of 𝑠e𝑥 assault and 𝑠e𝑥-trafficking lawsuits followed Ventura’s filing. In March, Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided by Homeland Security in relation to a 𝑠e𝑥-trafficking investigation in New York.
Combs has denied the allegations against him.
50 Cent—real name Curtis Jackson—has been embroiled in a long-time feud with Combs, and has been delighting in his rival’s recent misfortune on social media.
On Wednesday, the “In Da Club” rapper mocked Combs and Peloton on X, formerly Twitter.
“Damn so now they want the key back,” the 48-year-old wrote alongside a screenshot of an article on the topic from Us Weekly, seemingly referencing rumors that New York City plans to rescind the key it gave to Combs in 2023.
“They took the music off peloton to make sure no fat girls like him,” Jackson continued. “This is diabolical. LOL.”
Jackson also linked to his online merch store, gunitbrands.com. Since being shared, the post has received over 600,000 views.
The diss received mixed reactions from X users. Some applauded Jackson’s post, with Navin Nagrani calling the Grammy winner “shameless.”
“Get em 50,” joked @CTuska.
“It’s becoming funnier than I think,” said @omoiyaakeem.
“One thing I have learnt from 50cent is, never pick a fight with him, cus he won’t back down because he loves troll,” wrote Andrew J.
“This Downfall of Diddy arc needs 50 to narrate over it,” said @NaturoExplained. “That would be golden.”
However, some users defended Combs, with Fresca commenting: “You need to relax.”
“50 respectfully, what do you think will come of all of this?” asked @4EverReif.
“Diddy legacy shouldn’t he tarnish because of a mistake,” said Craig.
However, other users called Jackson out for “fat shaming.”
“So now you bash ‘fat girls’? Do better,” wrote @kgirly126.
“So rude,” agreed LaDavi.
“Please leave women out of this. Thanks,” said @RepubsREvil.
“Damn 50 you can say all of that but no fat shaming girls now,” said Phylicia Kara. “Some of us are fat because of actual health, meds, or hormone therapy.”
Newsweek has reached out to 50 Cent and Diddy for comment via email.
The feud between Jackson and Combs began in 2006, when Jackson released diss track “The Bomb.” The track claimed that Combs knew who murdered rapper The Notorious B.I.G., who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1997.
The pair have publicly traded insults back and forth ever since. In December, Jackson announced that he is working on a documentary regarding the 𝑠e𝑥ual assault allegations against Combs, developed through his G-Unit Films and Television company.
