He started attending MSU in 2015 and graduated from the university in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Before that, he was also a student at Rochester University from 2014 to 2015. He was part of the golf team and played on an athletic and academic scholarship for one year.

The newly married couple met at Michigan State University, where they were both students and began dating in 2016. She was studying psychology, while the latter was an economics major. They have had a rather private relationship since, aside from sharing photos occasionally on social media. While she boasts more than three million followers on Instagram, Evan has around 730 followers and keeps his account set to private. Hailie shares photos of herself often, but her now-husband has appeared on her page a few times since they have been public with their relationship.

He has been working for a company named Scout for almost six years. He began working there as a New Business Development Executive in 2018, and in 2020 he was promoted to Enterprise Growth Executive. Scout is a web-based case management software development company based in Royal Oak, Michigan.
According to its LinkedIn page, the company “provides an investigative solution through technology to some of the largest high-end luxury brands, multinational automakers & manufacturers, government entities, anti-counterfeiting groups, brand protection, leading insurance providers, and multinational pharmaceutical organizations.” He is also a member of the Board of Directors at BMC Capital and Technology, and before that, he interned at Axalta Coating Systems.

Hailie announced that they were engaged on Instagram in February 2024. “Casual weekend recap… 2.4.23. i love you @evanmcclintock11,” she captioned the post with heart emojis, alongside photos of her gorgeous engagement ring and of them celebrating the proposal with some champagne.

When it comes to how the family has reacted to their relationship, an insider told the Daily Mail that “Hailie’s family have welcomed Evan.”
“They are a fantastic young couple who love cozy nights in rather than hard partying,” the source said. “Marshall was just hitting the big time at the age Evan is now, making headlines for his shocking lyrics and toxic relationship with Kim.”

The couple discussed their engagement in an episode of Hailie’s Just A Little Shady podcast. Evan revealed that he asked Eminem for his approval to marry his daughter during Christmas, which is also Hailey’s birthday, in 2022. “It was over the holidays. I was just looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious. So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and made it happen,” he said at the time. “I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like…’I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time.”
He said he had started shopping for the engagement ring during the Thanksgiving holidays, he found an oval-cut diamond ring the day after he spoke to the rapper. “The day after my birthday, you got it? That’s crazy,” she said.
Evan said her sister, Alaina Marie Scott, helped him pick a ring. “It’s funny, so your sister really helped me out. She basically told me what for sure not to get,” he said, “That’s all I told her, so it makes sense.”
