Even after major photo agencies removed a family portrait from Mother’s Day from their huge archives due to an editing error, Kate’s passion for photography remained well-known. The documentary “Kate: A Queen for the Future” aired on Channel 5 and revealed that after seeing the negative effects of media attention on Prince William’s life, Kate took the unprecedented step of becoming the family’s main photographer.
“The Princess of Wales understands who she is, the position that she’s in,” noted journalist Afua Hagan, who praised Kate for her daring action in the documentary. Additionally, she is cognizant of the fact that people are curious about her family and, in particular, her children, and want to witness their development. She is so aware of the necessity of these images for the press.
According to Hagan, “The Princess of Wales has seen firsthand through her husband, Prince William, the damage that the press has done to his life and so she’s realized that if she can do something about that, if she can take control, then she should do that,” according to OK!
Kate did something that was revolutionary for its day, she continued. Her decision to take photos of her own children was, in my opinion, a stroke of genius. According to royal writer Ingrid Seward, Kate has taken on the role of “the family’s primary photographer,” rescuing the children from the awkwardness of being photographed by complete strangers. Prince William has grown up in the spotlight, as is customary for members of the royal family.
