The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a touching video on their official social media pages, offering a glimpse into their family’s preparations ahead of this year’s Trooping the Color parade.
The footage captures a tender moment between Princess Katherine and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, as they awaited their carriage before joining the royal procession.
In the video, Princess Katherine, known for her nurturing demeanor, is seen gently arranging Charlotte’s hair and exchanging smiles with her eldest son, Prince George.
Prince Louis, full of his trademark exuberance, waves enthusiastically to carriage drivers as they arrive at Buckingham Palace.
“The day marks Princess Katherine’s heartfelt return to public life amidst her cancer treatment as she joins the royal family to celebrate King Charles’s official birthday,” the caption accompanying the video read.
The Wales family was warmly received by crowds lining the Mall as they departed Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession for the Trooping the Color ceremony. Six-year-old Prince Louis, alongside his siblings, charmed spectators with waves and smiles during their carriage ride.
Having spent much of the year focusing on her health and undergoing chemotherapy, Princess Katherine appeared relaxed and joyful as she traveled in the Glass Coach with her children. The princess engaged in light-hearted conversation with her children before arriving at Horse Guards’ Palace in Whitehall.
Unlike previous years where she watched the Trooping the Color from the balcony, this year saw Princess Katherine observing the spectacle from the Duke of Wellington’s former office. She stood beside her children as regiments in ceremonial red dress continued their parade, occasionally whispering to Princess Charlotte during the band’s performance.
Since Princess Katherine’s cancer treatment began, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have been shielded from public appearances to spend quality time with their mother. Speculation had mounted over whether the children would join this year’s celebrations, traditionally marking King Charles III’s public birthday.
Royal expert Katie Nightel commented, “I wouldn’t be surprised if William brings along George, Charlotte, and Louis simply because they really enjoy being part of the parade and would likely be upset to miss out on it this year.” She emphasized the significance of such public appearances for the young royals, who are not yet working members of the royal family but are crucial in maintaining public engagement.
“While Princess Katherine’s return to public duties remains contingent on medical advice, her children’s participation in Trooping the Color serves as an important opportunity for them to honor their heritage and understand their future responsibilities,” Nightel added.
As the day concluded with the traditional Buckingham Palace appearance following the parade, anticipation remains high for future public engagements involving the Wales family.
