Things are getting even messier in the world of Hip-Hop beef as Meek Mill comes to the defense of Diddy’s son King Combs following 50 Cent’s response to his shocking diss track.
If you recall, just as we were getting over the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake last weekend, King Combs decided to step his foot into the beef world and drop the song, “Pick A Side,” a record in which he takes shots at all of his father’s haters — mainly Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has been bothering the Bad Boy Records founder for years.
On the song, Combs rapped, “When all they had was 50 Cent who put the city on the map?/ Stop lying, pops been hated on by many men and n***a, that’s fine/ They gon’ try to stop these Eminems and they gon’ die trying.”
Unsurprisingly, 50 Cent responds the only way he knows how to — by trolling on social media.
But, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has since come to the defense of the young King Combs, writing in a now-deleted post on X, ”Because your federal the street n****s in queens know that why you tryna pick on a lil boy… your own son hate your guts lol I’m so grateful to be on a island with my son and his friends on his bday .. don’t follow these guys they miserable lives be terrible.”
In another post, he added, “Ya’ll n****s 50 online beefing with kids. Of course yall n****s left all yall friends and family behind! Yall holding the culture back fr old hating manipulation n****s lol.”
In response, 50 Cent clowned the success of Meek Mill’s most recent album, writing, “You sold 6k copies your last project, you should not be on Vacation. Still chasing the dream or embracing the nightmare. Standing by your man, that I respect!”
While it’s clear that 50 Cent won’t back down from any MC who attacks him, it’s clear that rappers are more willing to combat him now more than ever, especially with the “In da Club” artist dealing with his own set of legal issues.
In March, Daphne Joy Narvaez, the rapper’s ex-wife, criticized her ex-husband in an Instagram post after he made light of her being named in the civil lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against P. Diddy.
She wrote that he was “wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives,” adding, “Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me.”
