It seems like hardcore Stephen Curry fans might also turn out to be his arch-nemesis. American YouTube sensation and a Curry loyalist have pressed the unfollow button.
Kelly Wakasa is a self-proclaimed Stephen fan, or rather was until a few hours ago. In his latest episode, the young content creator has issued a challenge to the 4x champion in a hilarious letter.
Apparently, not even a single day goes by in his life that Steph doesn’t come up in a conversation. Despite the time and dedication Wakasa has spent to create a successful career out of his craft on YouTube, Curry has defeated him there too. The whole situation is so much so that he “can’t stand it any longer.” He goes ahead and issues this warning to 10x All-Star, ” If you’re going to steal my flow, I’m going to do the same to you.”
At first glance, it might seem like this young man is out for blood. But as Kelly explains further, he is on a challenge called The Bucket List 30, and it’s the second day. And unfortunately, for him, he is trying to channel his inner Stephen Curry to nail 20 points, which originally was 30, but decided to keep it realistic.
Seeing as how Curry has 1.71 million subscribers on YouTube as opposed to Wakasa, who, after working day and night, has 1.52 million, has decided to “dominate” basketball. Unfortunately for the kid, he didn’t get anywhere near 20. And he is still 190,000 subscribers short of Curry.
Talk about emotional damage! But we are talking about one of the greatest in basketball here. And he had his own battles to fight.
Stephen Curry had to go the extra mile to reach the superstar status he enjoys now
