For the third week in a row, Eminem rules the U.K. albums chart. The rapper’s latest release The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) debuted atop the ranking of the most-consumed full-lengths in the country less than a month ago, and it hasn’t disappeared from the throne since.
As The Death of Slim Shady rules once more, another one of Eminem’s most popular releases is still going strong across the pond. This week has turned out to be a special one for Curtain Call 2, as it reaches a milestone that only a handful of the hip-hop powerhouse’s projects have.
Curtain Call 2 celebrates 104 weeks on the U.K. albums chart this frame. That’s two full years on the list, and while those turns have not all been consecutive, it still ranks as one of Eminem’s most successful releases in the nation.
Eminem has now seen just four titles rack up at least 104 stays on the U.K. albums list. His traditional full-lengths The Eminem Show (155 weeks) and The Slim Shady LP (134 weeks) have reached that mark.
Curtain Call 2 has been charting fairly consistently since it was released, but its success pales in comparison to its predecessor. Curtain Call – The Hits ranks as one of the longest-charting titles in U.K. history–especially when looking only at rap and hip-hop efforts. That compilation has now spent 629 weeks somewhere on the tally, as of this frame.
This week, Curtain Call 2 falls on the U.K. albums chart. The singles collection slips from No. 38 to No. 41, sliding outside the top 40 on the list.
Eminem released Curtain Call 2 in August 2022, and it was, expectedly, a worldwide hit. In the U.K., the compilation opened and peaked at No. 3, adding to the rapper’s collection of top 10 wins. It spent just two turns inside the loftiest tier, though since then, it’s continued to perform, as fans keep streaming the hits featured on its tracklist.
This week, Eminem fills four spaces on the U.K. albums ranking. As The Death of Slim Shady rules and Curtain Call 2 steps outside the top 40, two other bestsellers are still moving enough units to place on the competitive tally. He nearly manages a pair of top 10s, as Curtain Call (the first) sits at No. 11. The Eminem Show, meanwhile, backtracks to No. 88.
