Being a fashion icon in her own right, she isn’t afraid to take risks when it comes to her style.
And feeling adventurous when it came to her latest image overhaul, Rihanna chose to ditch her trademark raven locks for a bright blue shade instead.
Debuting her bold new tresses as she attended a carnival event in her home nation of Barbados on Saturday night, the Rude Boy hit-maker, 29, commanded attention, thanks to her newly-dyed ‘do
Rihanna ensured The Elevate St Tropez party – one of the many parties held during Barbados’ Crop Over summer festival – was a stylish affair, as she cut and edgy figure in her barely-there ensemble that left her slender pins firmly on display.
The starlet was aptly dressed for the occasion, sporting festival-themed attire as she stepped out in a pair of thigh-grazing denim shorts that were barely visible underneath her Louis Vuitton jacket.
Opting for double denim, her over-sized outerwear stole a look at her assets underneath, as Rihanna opted to leave the first few buttons of her jacket undone to flaunt her cleavage and the inking that sits in between her bust.
She accessorised her look with a plain gold chain around her neck and appeared to go incognito for the fun-loving event as she hid behind a pair of funky sunglasses and a Balenciaga cap.
While her minimal outfit certainly turned heads, it was the singer’s bonce that really caught the eye.
Rihanna wore her locks down to grazed her shoulders in crimped waves, showcasing its new turquoise hue in all its glory.
It’s not the first time she has opted to change up her hair colour and back in 2015, Rihanna had dabbled with a blue dye, but of a much darker shade.
Seeming to embrace her revamped tresses, Rihanna – who is reportedly dating Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel – was seen running a hand through her hair as she strolled past excited fans, flanked by security.
Her appearance in Barbados comes as Rihanna’s latest movie has hit the big screen. She has been known to dabble in acting alongside her music career and stars in new movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets with her model pal Cara Delevingne.
Cara, 24, plays Laureline opposite Rihanna’s character Bubble in the other-wordly flick.
While promoting the movie, Cara had gushed about her friendship with Rihanna and how it is ‘amazing’ to now be working alongside her on set.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, she said: ‘We met at a fashion show and five years later we’re doing a Luc Besson film.
‘We all grew up watching his films so to be appearing in them as leading ladies is incredible.’
Valerian also stars Dane DeHaan, Clive Owen and Ethan Hawke.
