While police were escorting a murder suspect into custody, a group of New Yorkers gave the man a beating! While, he was a person of interest. In the latest update, prosecutors have formally accused 55-year-old Chad Irish with the death of Yazmeen Williams.
Police recovered the 31-year-old’s body from black trash bags stuffed into a sleeping bag.
Irish is charged of dumping her on a New York City sidewalk for trash pickup. He experienced charges such as “concealment of a corpse, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing,” according to media.
Police are reportedly still looking for a homicide weapon and executing a search warrant of his apartment.
As per to media, Yazmeen Williams’ body was in a decomposing state as it sat on East 27th Street. Police found Williams after receiving complaints about a suspicious package with a foul smell in the middle of a pile of trash bags.
As mentioned, examiners have already ruled the death a murder, citing a gunshot wound to the head. Surveillance footage they recovered reportedly shows an individual believed to be Chad Irish in an electric wheelchair pulling the sleeping bag, per NBC.
In addition footage from a residence building (seen HERE) shows Irish seemingly dragging the body out of his doorway. He’s seen standing during this. For context, Chad is reportedly able to walk but uses a wheelchair to get around.
After getting the sleeping bag out the door, he brought out the electric chair and attached the bag before pulling it down the hall.
Fox 5 New York captured footage of police escorting Irish out of a building as enraged neighbors punched and beat him in the head and body as he lay on a stretcher.
Local Pix11 reports that neighbors spotted and restrained the man until police arrived.
The arrest happened on Monday (July 8) near an area called Straus Houses. Police and paramedics attempt to keep the crowd at bay, but the blows kept coming!
