No 4th-Quarter Collapse: Warriors Rout LeBron-Less Lakers

In a highly anticipated matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors displayed their prowess with a commanding 128-110 victory.

Despite missing LeBron James, the Lakers put up a formidable fight, but ultimately couldn’t keep pace with the Warriors’ relentless offensive onslaught.

From the opening tip-off, the Warriors showcased their determination, led by a flurry of three-pointers from Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, propelling them to an early 11-4 lead.

However, Anthony Davis quickly reminded the Warriors that the Lakers are a force to be reckoned with, keeping the game competitive.Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) reacts after making a 3-point basket against the Los Angeles Lakers during the first half of an NBA basketball game in San Francisco, Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. As the action unfolded, the game transitioned from fast-paced excitement to a brief period of sloppiness and slow play. However, Curry’s stellar performance, including 16 points in the first quarter alone, helped the Warriors maintain a slim 31-28 lead after the opening frame.

In the second quarter, the Warriors encountered turnovers but found a surprising spark in rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis, who made an immediate impact on both ends of the court. With Curry’s leadership and Jackson-Davis’s contributions, the Warriors surged ahead, culminating in a 67-56 lead at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Warriors extend their lead to as much as 17 points, only for the Lakers to mount a comeback and narrow the deficit. However, the Warriors responded emphatically, with a buzzer-beating shot from Jonathan Kuminga extending their lead to 98-82 heading into the final frame.

Despite early turnovers in the fourth quarter, the Warriors maintained their composure, with Andrew Wiggins scoring seven consecutive points to secure a comfortable lead. Moses Moody and Jackson-Davis continued to shine, while Klay Thompson’s contributions, despite a shooting slump, were invaluable in securing the win.
