The Dream is trending in the streets of Twitter as the public reacts to Channii Monroe’s case accusing the hit-making producer of rape, sexual battery, and sex trafficking.
Channii asserted that in 2015, The-Dream used promises of advancing her music career to entangle her in an abusive connection, forcing her to have sex, strangling her, and making a video recording of an intimate meeting which he later used to threaten her.
The case, filed In U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, portrays The-Dream as a manipulative figure who controlled Channii Monroe’s life under the guise of career advancement.
In spite of his celebrated career, additionally writing hits like Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” Channii’s suit explained a darker side, accusing him of sex trafficking and severe abuse.
Channi Monroe’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated, “This is yet another horrific example of how men in the music industry use their power and influence to manipulate and harm others.”
Channii showed that the abuse made it impossible for her to pursue her career goals and hopes that telling of her story will prevent future abuse.
The-Dream, through a representative, refused the allegations, calling them untrue and defamatory.
